Personal Freeze Frame example
A while back, my wife and I had received a very disconcerting legal judgement for money we simply didn’t have and we couldn’t pay.
As I wrote down the situation, my usual reaction would have been to try to brush it aside with a cocktail, bike ride or some other way to avoid or escape the issue.
Instead I used the FREEZE-FRAME process.
When I asked my leader within for a solution (Step 4), the message I got was: “Get in the car with Karen and drive for at least one hour.”
We were living in Georgia at the time and North Georgia has some beautiful mountains so we drove for an hour and discussed the issue. When we got to a specifically beautiful area, we got out of the car and walked for a bit.
On the way home, the solution was so simple. Call the debtor and organize a monthly payment. The only reason it took a car ride is to get me out of feeling like a victim with no control over my destiny.
Today, that type of input would come far quicker and more automatically. This type of reaction was one of the reasons for writing this book.
