Audio Production
If the mic has an on/off switch, keep an
eye on it!
Always direct the mic towards the person
who’s talking.
Hold the mic at constant distance and angle
from your mouth (or your subject’s mouth)
Always direct the mic towards the person
who’s talking.
While producing video reportage:
Choose a microphone relevant to your
equipment and situation. Always control
the quality of recording through earphones.
If it is impossible, try to initially listen for thirty
seconds and make sure that the voice is record-
ed clearly.
While recording podcast or voiceover:
Hard surfaces reflect sound like a mirror
reflects a light. Set up a carpeted space,
near bookcases, away from walls and
windows. Be far from any noise you can’t
manually turn off. Speaking diagonally into
mic, not straight. This results in fewer plosives.
