Our Four Core Pillars: Reducing Food
Pillar 2 Insecurity through the provision of fresh
healthy food to the most vulnerable
populations in need.
NEIGHBORHOOD GARDEN PILLAR: Our neighborhood
garden initiatives focus on providing gardens as close to
the populations that need it as possible.
We have been working diligently to partner with Washoe
County on an agreement to secure a 2-acre parcel on
the “Our Place” Campus, which houses 170 homeless,
women children and families.
Washoe County is spending over 15 million dollars
refurbishing the buildings on the “Our Place” campus to
support this homeless population.
Soulful Seeds is pleased to announce that in October
2020, one year from our presentation to the County
Commissioners, we signed that agreement and plan to
have gardens on-site this spring. For this we want to
thank the State, Washoe County and each and
everyone of the Washoe County Commissioners. For
without your continued commitment and support, we
would have never been able to achieve this goal.
