Tesla was founded by a group of engineers who believed that people didn’t need to compromise to drive
electric, those engineers who once dreamt of driving a car on battery is now a reality.
Tesla was formed way back in 2003 where Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning started a car manufacture
company that is also a technology company, with its core technologies as “the battery, the computer soft-
ware, and the proprietary motor” and later on joined by Elon musk, JB Straubel and Ian Wright.

The name Tesla is a homage to one of the worlds most Admirable Scientists Nikola Tesla. The full form of
Tesla is Tera Electron Volt Energy Superconducting Linear Accelerator.
