Reduce, Reuse, Repost. With over 360,000 posts repurposed to date, and projects
completed with wineries including Villa Maria, Yealands and Pernod Ricard – this small
kiwi team are helping solve one of New Zealand’s biggest viticulture waste issues.
Reposts framework is that of circular economy; Repost take a viticulture waste product
and repurpose it as a key on-farm input, at a fraction of the cost of a new fence post. A
win for the back pocket, and a win for the environment. Broken vineyard posts are a
serious environmental issue for the New Zealand wine industry. Pine posts are
chemically treated with CCA to preserve the timber creating a waste disposal issue
when the posts break. The solution? Repost, a portable service that grades the posts,
NEW AND EMERGING removes the 14 clips/nails per post, trims and bundles them. Repost have saved 3,975
SUSTAINABILITY FINALIST tonnes of wood from landfill and helped fence over 3,530km of New Zealand’s
INNOVATION FINALIST farmland to date. With an estimated additional 4375 tonnes or 340,000 posts have
                                        been saved in 2023.

Opening his own business. Matt Flight’s goals were simple to be part of the community
as a councillor and be part of the community as a businessperson, a father and husband,
a part of the community patrol and a rugby referee. Multiple businesses in appliance
repairs had closed, which left a large gap in the market to service the region and Matt
had the knowledge to get one started. Marlborough Appliance Repair Serivces (MARS)
opened in November 2022. At first it was a lot of different things he would do, some
lawns, handyperson work, repairs, and the like. Then in May 2023 work progressed for the
