• Exploration of the affected tube to detect the site of ectopic and the
other tube for rare bilateral ectopic pregnancy. The ovaries on both
sides should be explored as well.
1- Salpingostomy: Used to treat unruptured ampullary gestations.
2- Salpingectomy: Used to treat tubal rupture. It may be partial or
complete.
3- Segmental resection and anastomosis: Used for unruptured ectopic
in the isthmus of the tubes.
4- Fimbria evacuation:
(B) Laparoscopy: The patient should be hemodynamically stable.
(1) Salpingotomy:
The following criteria should be fulfilled:
Early unruptured tubal pregnancy,
The diameter of the ectopic is not exceeding 2 cm in diameter, and
Both cornual and fimbrial ends look fairly normal.
(2) Salpingectomy:
Indicated in ruptured tubes where an end loop suture is applied to
the damaged tube then it is cut, or a bipolar diathermy and scissors are
used for this purpose.
