On October 30, the Bowling team competed in districts. It was a tough competition but the boys’ team had a strong finish and placed first overall. They qualified to compete in the state competition on November seventh. Senior captain Theo Cox has gone to states for the past two years individually and was able to go with his team this year.
“It’s great. I love being able to share an amazing experience with a great group of guys,” Cox said.
Along with qualifying for states as a team Michael Harmon Jr.,11, and Theo Cox,12, also had outstanding performances. Michael placed first in the district bowling a 805, breaking the district record in the process with 558 for two. Michael placed to compete in the state competition however since the team qualified for states he was not eligible to compete individually. Theo placed fifth in the district individually bowling a 659. The team had a great overall season and are looking to continue this in the years to follow.
“I’m super proud of how the team came together when we needed to. I want them to keep their heads up and take the torch that I’m passing on to them,” Cox said.
The
Cross Country
On October 27, the Cross Country team competed in the District 13 Meet. The boys’ team had a solid finish to their season placing seventh out of nine teams, just a couple of spots shy of qualifying for regionals. The girls’ team ran hard and had an outstanding finish, placing fourth out of nine teams in districts and qualifying themselves for regionals. Kaylee Kraver,9, had a strong run and finished 13th overall. Josh Kraver, 11, advanced individually by running a 16:16 5K and placing seventh overall, qualifying himself for regionals.
“My goal for this season is to qualify for state,” Kraver said.
During the regional meet, Josh had an amazing day and accomplished his goal. Josh ran a 16: finishing seventh in regionals. Josh qualified and is moving on to the state meet.
“My feelings for the season is happy with my results even with some challenging obstacles to overcome,” Kraver said.
