Swimming and Diving
   On October 30, the swimming and diving teams competed in the district meet at Indian River State College. Both teams had amazing performances to finish the season. The swimming team places third overall with several swimmers and relays advancing to the regional meet. Among those swimmers were Molly Noah, 12, Makaila Johnson, 8, Samuel Quigg, 9, David Cox, 9, and Hunter Mealing, 11.
“It was a surprise [placing third] but we definitely deserved it with all the hard work we put in. We had some great young talents such as Samuel Quigg and David Cox along with seniors doing a great job leading the team,” Mealing said.
The diving team also had strong finishes to their season. All-conference team member and cape coast conference diving champion Lana Schmadeke, 8, finished first with a score of 450.95 points. Rhea Nibert, 8, also placed finishing fourth with a score of 330.20 points. Both divers qualified for regionals and are looking to represent Edgewood at states this year.
Golf
  On October 15, the Golf team participated in districts. After having an outstanding season placing first in the Cape Coast Conference, the boys’ team finished the season on a high note. The team placed first overall winning the tournament and advancing to regionals. The boys were led my Justin Lansing, 12, Jon Wang,9, and Asher Joseph, 7. All three boys shot an 82 placing third, second, and first respectively. Along with winning districts and the Cape Coast Conference, Justin, Jon, and Asher were announced to be on the All-Conference team.
Along with an amazing performance by the boys’ golf team two of the girl golfers also advanced to regionals. Lena Stagliano, 10, and Jessica Godwin, 11, both had outstanding performances to qualify themselves for regionals.
