The new series began production this October in New York. However, because this new TV undertaking will take time, it is unlikely that fans will be seeing the show anytime soon.
Mulan
The 1998 animated Mulan movie is one of the most popular Disney animated movies, making it no surprise that this film will be returning to the big screen this year for the next generation of audiences.
“In the new film, there is a greater focus on reality, rather than the fantastical nature of the animated film,” said the BBC. “The songs will be purely instrumental. Those who are more supportive of the decision say that the live-action film will be more faithful to the original story of Mulan.”
In addition to the changes in the music, there will be an alteration in the character scheme altogether. Mushu and Cricket were not to be seen in the trailers released by Disney, which has led to speculation that the duo will not have an on-screen appearance in this latest film.
But while the format of this movie may be changing significantly from the storyline that was loved by audiences, it is hoped that this film will be better received on a global scale. The new film will have a larger focus on the original telling of Mulan while also fixing many deviations that occurred in the original. The new film is set to release on March 27, 2020 to theaters and fans are waiting with anticipation for its arrival. Following a succession of other live action Disney movies, such as Aladdin and the Jungle Book, this film will be sure to knock it out of the park with the incredible visual effects and new cast of storytellers.
Ghostbusters
After having arrived in a small town, a mother and her children begin to see a connection to the Ghostbusters through a legacy left behind by their grandfather.
Starring alongside new faces to the Ghostbusters series such as Paul Rudd and Finn Wolfhard, actors and actresses from the original movies are back to reprise their characters for the next generation. Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray, and Sigourney Weaver have all been confirmed to return to their roles in the new film, Ghostbusters Afterlife, which is set to release in the Summer of 2020.
But while the original Ghostbusters movies were set in the heart of New York City with the beloved fire station, this movie will not sport the same setting. As seen in the trailers, the movie will be set far away from the streets of New York and into the rural atmosphere of Rust City, located in an unknown location in midwestern United States. But, even with this change of scenery, the movie will still have plenty of connections to the original movie that is still beloved by fans. Grab your proton packs and a bucket of popcorn, because you certainly won’t want to miss this.
