Marvel has a lot planned for the new lineup of movies and characters. This new stage of Marvel products is called Phase Four. Phase Four will consist of nine new movies, some of those including Black Widow, Thor: Love and Thunder, and a new movie called The Eternals.
Black Widow’s movie will center around her past and how she found the Avengers. Fans are excited to see Black Widow emerge from the shadows and into the spotlight with her own movie. Black Widow will release in theatres on May 1st, 2020.
The Eternals is about a group of superhero humanoids who protect the earth from their evil counterparts, the deviants. The movie will come out early November 2020. The cast will have Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani and Lauren Ridloff as the first deaf superhero.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be the fourth film in the Thor movies, also featuring the first open LGBT+ character, Valkyrie. Natalie Portman will also be returning, becoming Lady Thor. Fans are excited to see Portman and Hemsworth work together in the new action packed movie.
Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness will be released in May of 2021. This will be the first Marvel movie to be in the horror genre. The sequel is
said to be weirder and more thrilling than the first.
Cumberbatch will return with costar Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlet Witch.
The famous company is also stepping up their game with all new Disney+ shows exploring new as well as familiar faces. Loki, Wanda, Vision, and Hawkeye are all getting brand new shows centered around their individual characters. These characters, who have historically received less screen time than others, will finally get the recognition they deserve in their brand new shows.
Hawkeye will be about a new legacy: Clint Barton will pass the torch to Kate Bishop, a new character. The series will be action packed and released in the Fall of 2021. In the new show, Bishop takes over the identity of Hawkeye after Barton is presumed dead. Kate is under a lot of pressure and will definitely be a thrilling new show.
Plenty of fans have wondered what happened to Loki since his disappearance in Avengers: Infinity War. Well, they are in luck: Loki’s new show is set to be about what happened to the loveable villain. The Disney + show will come out in Spring of 2021. Time will tell what kind of mischief Loki
will get in.
An exciting, new show called What If... is about the characters in the MCU but in different, alternate realities. For example, what if Aunt May had been bitten by the radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker or if Tony Stark had stolen Hank Pym’s original suit and become Ant-Man instead of Iron Man? The animated series will come out the summer of 2021 with the voices of pretty much all of the Avengers.
Speaking of Peter Parker, fans are excited about Marvel and Sony partnering together on two more Spiderman movies. After the statement made by the CEO of Sony back in August about the fate of the iconic character, lots of people were upset. The loyal fans couldn’t imagine a world without Spidey. These fears, however, have since been assuaged. Spiderman has a brand new movie coming July of 2021 and Tom Holland will be the iconic character still.
Marvel has plenty planned for the next couple of years, and this phase could be even greater than the last. Marvel fans should be excited to go to the theatres and watch these heroes on screen, and also watch the beloved Marvel characters in the comfort of their home with Disney+.
