Barbados Threadsnake
In August 2008, scientists found the world’s smallest snake on the Caribbean Island of Barbados. At full size, this little snake is less than 4 in. (10 cm) long. It is also as thin as a spaghetti noodle, and it can curl up on a US quarter without needing much extra space. The snake eats termites to survive, and they burrow in soil like the blindsnakes, but not much else is known about this tiny living noodle.
