We are pleased to share our first Heart of Brevard submission with all of you...
Nick Stewart – AP, Edgewood Jr./Sr. High (former Dean at Space Coast Jr./Sr. High)
My name is Raven Head. I am a 10th grader at Space Coast Jr/Sr high school. I believe Mr. Nick Stewart who works at Edgewood Jr/Sr high school as an assistant principal of facilities should be a candidate of the “Heart of Brevard” because...When he was the Dean at my school last year and the year before Everyone and I mean EVERYONE at my school including me was able to
go up to him for anything. He was honestly the best person to
have around and to be able to go to when your having a bad day and trust me i had many of those. He always had a smile on his face and would help everyone out. Him and I were very close. From the day I met him he became my mentor, role model, and a father figure to me. And he was also a mentor and role model to many other students also. He made my day and many other peoples day happy and enjoyable.
I cant express to you guys enough on how much he cared for our ESE kids at Space Coast (kids who have intellectual disabilities that effect their day to day life). He would do anything for those kids. And he inspired me to want to go to College for Special Education. All the staff here at Space Coast including me and many of other students miss him at our school and having his positive energy around. Everyday before and after-school he would tell me “Think about the positives and not about the negatives”. Even though he isn’t at Space Coast anymore I know that when he is At Edgewood he will spread his love
and positivity there. Surprisingly enough he doesn’t get much credit on what he does for his students and staff, and I believe the “Heart of Brevard” will show him how much he means to everyone and how many lives he has impacted.
