Flipping the Script Productions was founded in 2021 by Stephen Rourke, a Baltimore-based attorney,
actor, theater preservationist, and a reader of new plays for the Baltimore Playwrights Festival, an
experience he has found to be an amazing outlet for voices from underrepresented communities, and
for scripts that demand audiences. Currently, Mr. Rourke has optioned an original play by a promising
new playwright, Melissa Borgerding. He is working with a Los Angeles-based director, James A. Goins,
to mount a full production after a successful reading of the script at Theatre West. Mr. Rourke is
mentored by Tony-award-wining Broadway producer Ken Davenport, who runs The TheaterMakers Studio. To learn
