WHERE TO REGISTER AS
A FREELANCE WRITER
BY KIM BOCK
So, you decided to be a Freelance Writer, but you
don’t know where to get paying jobs?
There are a lot of good reasons why you would
want to be a Freelance Writer. You can do what
you love, in your own time and you can do it from
home. What’s more is that people will pay you to
write for them, or you can even start your own
Blog and make money from that.
LINKEDIN
The very first thing you should do, is to open
an account at LinkedIn. My profile page is
at https://www.linkedin.com/in/kimbockwebsc
ripto/ and you are more than welcome to use
it as an example for yourself. Over the years I
have gained more than 13 500 followers, and I
have received several freelance job offers
through LinkedIn, the most notable being an
academic writer for The Edge Learning
Institute.
OTHER SOURCES
After establishing your profile at LinkedIn, you
can also create a profile at Webfluential. In their
own words, ‘Webfluential is the software you
need to make being an influencer easy and
professional. Spend less time on admin, and more
time doing what you love’. You can also consider
registering your services as a Freelance Writer on
the following sites (there are many other similar
sites online where you can register your services
as a Freelance or Academic Writer):
Fiverr
Upwork
Remote
ReferHire
Indeed (if you are a South African)
Job Monster (if you’re a South African)
Freelancer
Remember however that there
are thousands of other writers
out there already marketing
themselves. The secret, is
therefore to make yourself
and your skills stand out from
the rest.
