“We cannot do great things on this earth, only small things with great love.”

TMSA started this humble deed with the motive of “Reach out and Touch”

to pay homage to Guru Nanak Dev ji on his 550th birthday.

As Daan is the second of the three doctrinal terms; Naam, Daan, Ishnaan that formed the
            basis of Guru Nanak’s teachings.

            Daan implies altruism. A
Daan implies altruism.ltruism is the essence of God’s consciousness. To inculcate the
virtues of compassion, empathy and humanity into the students, The Millennium School,
Amritsar has initiated an official “Millennium Welfare Club” to feed the hungry. Under this

community Service Programme the students bring two ‘chapattis’ from home once a

week on a designated day and ‘dal’ is prepared by the school helpers. Not only this but
also the students are responsible for arranging and serving food to the needy in the

            traditional way of ‘Langar’.

            Firstly
First, the students of 8th A went to Mission Deep Public School, which is operated by
Mission Deep Educational Trust and served the food to more than 500 students. More

rejuvenation and regeneration was the aim of Guru Nanak Dev ji and so is ours.

Then the students of Class 8th B went to Nishkam Sewa Public School which is a school

for the downtrodden ragpickers and fed more than 250 children. These little acts of
kindness like feeding the hungry, leave a long lasting impact on a child’s life.

S Students of 8th C had been to Pingalwara Manawala. The students were really happy; they

enjoyed serving the kids there. Also, there was an emotional connect that the students

could feel with the underpreviliged kids. It was indeed a great experience for the students.
Then our students started feeding the underpreviliged people on the road. Feeding the

ones who are deprived of the basic amenities like food, makes the students appreciate

little things in life. Apart from providing academic skills, The Millennium School, Amritsar
strives for a child’s holistic development.

Then we realized that the patients and their relatives need our attention. So, we started
            Then
going to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, ESI Hospital and Civil Hospital to render our service
            towards the needy.
