In the high tech world of today, everyone is getting super addicted

to mobile phones. People are using mobiles on various accounts like
playing games, browsing internet, using social media sites etc.

Apart from various concerns like harmful radiations, weakening eye

sight, cyber bullying-the most important concern is that Indian
mothers, who were famous all over the world for motherly love and

compassion have now become so obsessed with their mobile phones

                       that
that they turn deaf ears to their infant cries. Motherly love and rec-
ipes have been replaced by Swiggy and Zomato. The most busiest places

like railway stations, bus stops and doctor’s reception have been si-

lenced by mobile phones. Internet shopping has decreased the hustle
and bustle in the market. The place of outdoor and indoor games are

being taken up by mobile phones. Slowly and steadily mobile is be-

coming everyone’s best friend. Man is losing the very essence of

being a social animal. Sometimes I really wonder what are we heading
towards – DIGITALISATION OR SELF DESTRUCTION.

Time for something new “Hockey Old – Cricket New”

“Cricket and not Hockey should be the National game of India”

To brief, British Indian Team was the Champion of Hockey of the pre Independent
India and hence Hockey became the National game of Independent India too.

           Over
Overa period of time, Cricket has completely over- shadowed Hockey. India has
shined a lot in the game of Cricket and is gradually emerging as a Champion in it.

Such is the MADNESS of the game, that it has been considered as a religion that
UNITES ALL RELIGIONS IN THE COUNTRY. Change is the law of nature. India is a dem-

ocratic country and so should its SPORTS BE. National game should be the choice
of the nation. A common site in the lanes of almost all the cities and towns in
India is – GALLI CRICKET. IPL is adding the charm to it where people are ready to

           change
changetheir work shift timings to watch IPL matches. Cricket is the most viable
sports career option now-a-days. There is huge REVENUE GENERATION for the gov-

ernment too. Ask anyone, from elders to the children in the house, everyone knows
the names of Cricketers, but, ask about Anoop Kumar, Manpreet Singh – most of you
will scratch your head. CRICKETERS BIG/SMALL are DEMI GODS. If cricket is what

the citizens of India demands, then THE CHANGE SHOULD BE WELCOMED. It should not
be a lack of political will. If you look for overall craze of Indians in any sport,

then IT IS FOR CRICKET ONLY.

INDIANS ARE DIE- HARD FANS OF CRICKET.

           “CRICKET IS A RELIGION
           CRICKETERS ARE GODS.”

So why not Cricket be our National Sport ?????

Three cheers for INDIAN CRICKET TEAM

                                                                                                                 -Aarushi Chopra
