Humanities
Teachers in Humanities have created consistent grading practices and feedback practices during the
Acts of God days. They participate in weekly virtual meetings with their Division lead to problem
solve and identify action steps for the team.
Operations/Culture and Climate
The school participated in multiple tech distribution days for our students to obtain the necessary
devices and hotspots to continue to engage in their learning. Multiple staff contact students we
have not heard from in order to ensure their tech needs were met.
During the Acts of God Days, the Rich East food services team distributed thousands of meals to
our community.
Our security and buildings and grounds staff continue to work throughout these days to support
building needs.
Administrators, counselors and social workers identified and made contact with our most
vulnerable population and are tracking students and families we have had no contact with. By
March 31, there are less than 80 students that we have had little to no contact with. The team is
identifying our police officers to make home visits to those students we have yet to make contact
with.
Our counselors, social workers, psychologist, nurses and speech pathologists are finding unique
ways to engage with students virtually to make sure their social and emotional needs are being met
and all other identified needs outside of academics are being met.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Personnel Staffing/Reorganization
The District has completed the organizational charts for the building and district consolidation. The
administration has completed the process of impact bargaining those changes with the certified
association. The administration will recommend a reduction in force for classified and exempt
employees as a result of the consolidation. All mandatory timelines have been followed and
collaborative discussions have occurred. Recommended administrative teams have been proposed for
the 2020-2021 term; and the board will take action on approving administrative contracts for the
2020-2021 school term.
COVID 19
The Office of Human Resources is closely monitoring the number of District 227 reported cases of
COVID 19. One staff member reported that she had contracted COVID 19; however her symptoms
and diagnosis were made two weeks after a decision was made to close schools.
