Welsh Premier Sale
The Welsh Premier Sale was held on 30 August with a total of
298 entries.
It was down to judge Alfie Taylor of the Heatheryhall Flock to find
his Champion and Reserve in the pre-sale show.
He placed lot 245 Frongoy Harry ET from Dafydd Jones’ Frongoy
flock as his Champion. Harry later sold at 3000gns which was
top price of the day to Welsh Club Member Lowri Williams for
her Rhyd flock.
In Reserve was lot 84 a ram lamb from the Hackney flock of Mr
Paul Tippets; Hackney Jurassic ET which topped the lamb trade
selling for 1500gns to Scotland.
Overall vendors were happy on their days trading with stronger
tups selling away well.
Ruthin Sale
A total of 89 sheep were forward for sale on 7 September where
a change of day back to the Thursday made for a better
atmosphere and sale average.
Judge Gethin Mathias, Buarth Flock, found his Champion in a
shearling ewe lot 18, Smart Ass Hooch ET, from the Smart Ass
Flock of Dafydd Owen.
In Reserve was a shearling ram lot 30, Glantre Hulk ET, from
husband and wife duo Michael and Heulwen Owens of the
Glantre flock (Glantre Hulky ET)
Continuing their strong sale average of the season and topping
the day’s trade was the Gyffin Flock, selling two shearling rams
for over the four-figure mark.
