How did you get into
this industry, any family “connections?
I studied BA (Hons) Media Produc-
tion at Northumbria University in Newcastle and graduated in 1997. I left and found work straight away as a camera

What are your current and
future projects?
I am currently between jobs having just wrapped on the feature Rounding Up Donkeys. I am hoping to shoot further features this year but I am also interested in shooting in other areas such as television, commercials and music promos
depending on the merits of each project.
What is your experience of working with Fujifilm stock?
I have shot on 16mm recently on the short film Alex And Her Arse Truck -
Cinema Extreme, Film Four/Third. I also
spent 2 weeks in Namibia shooting on 16mm Fuji stock for a preparatory shoot for the feature Skeleton Coast to be directed by Miranda Bowen. I was very impressed by
the way that Fujifilm handled the
extreme contrast inherent in the
Namibian climate and the footage
remains my current inspiration as a ” cinematographer.

I continued working as a 2nd and 1st AC for a number of years whilst also continuing to work as cinematographer on a range of smaller drama projects. I have no family connections in the industry.

I don’t have a favourite job to date but I am very proud of the work that I did on the fea- ture Ballast (USA, 2008) which has won

In terms of creative influence then the work of directors Lars Von Trier, Harmony Korine, Wim Wenders, Nic Roeg and the cinematog- raphers/photographers Robby Muller, An- thony Dod Mantle, Christopher Doyle, Yves Cape and Arthur Freed continue to inspire.
