Dear Mr Begg -
Seeing as it’s June 14th - here’s a copy (my response ON SAME DAY to your letter of 14 June (not as you had, 14 May) of what I still consider to be game set and match in ripping apart most ifnot all of Mrs Hillgarth’s spiteful accusations especially in light of her Witness Statement dated 10 August some two months later!!!
Leaving aside the audio admission which you cannot in all seriousness doubt its authenticity? If you do, get it tested. You do note that Mrs Hillgarth makes clear in her email dated 11 September 2014 (your favourite reference)
Paul,
Following my visit at Mitre [House] on Tuesday, it appears that you are doing the internal work yourself, which is not what had been agreed at the board meeting on 23rd May 2014. (TOO TRUE AND I WAS NOT DOING ALL THE INTERNAL WORKS MYSELF such as ELECTRICS, PAINTING, VARIOUS OTHER BITS & BOBS, BUT I WAS DOING THE LIFT, BUILDING THE METER CUPBOARDS, BUILDING THE MAIL TABLE DISMANTLING THE HANDRAIL, MEASURING UP, PREPARING THE CRITTALL WINDOWS FOR PAINTING and ONSITE 24/7 HELPING OUT ANYBODY WHO NEEDED ANOTHER SET OF HANDS)
In the minutes of the meeting of 23rd May 2014, it says explicitly that A&R Lawrence have been appointed to carry out the external and internal refurbishments (TRUE, THEY HAD BEEN AS THE AUDIO EVIDENCES and also evidences the shouted query “ARE YOU GOING TO COMPLAIN IF £106,000 FUNDS ARE NOT PASSED OVER TO CONTRACTOR - ASKED TWICE I RECALL? WHICH IS WHEN SHE AGREES SAVINGS will BE USED FOR OTHER THINGS NOT IN SCHEDULE - WHICH WILL MAKE EVERYBODY HAPPY - yes or no? Doctored or not?) and it also says that ‘PBC mentioned that savings could always be made by seeking independently sourced quotes for some of the works especially the internals.’ (TOO TRUE AND EXACTLY AS DISCUSSED ON THE AUDIO WITH THE RESULT OF HER UNDERSTANDING SAVINGS COULD BE MADE (yes.....ANYWAY WE CAN) TO BE USED FOR OTHER ITEMS, THE LIFT & OTHER THINGS ON HER LIST......Could you elaborate on this and tell me who is doing what as far as the internal is concerned? Or if you are the solo internal decorator?
I would like you to state exactly what internal work they are doing, and supply me a breakdown of the costs of the internal so that I know where we are.
I look forward to receiving the breakdown of costs and please try to keep it to the point, it’s a pretty simple exercise since you should have all the facts at your fingertips.
Best, Michele
Had I answered saying - oooh hold on Michele, you agreed to this at the meeting! She’d have denied it and demanded proof! Yes or no based on the story so far?
And please no whining over the only thing you picked out of this letter (a letter you deem so important it’s listed in your bundle not once but twice) re my works and any other works we oversaw were not done under the gaze and acceptance of Surveyor/Contractor/fellow workers etc - you only have to read the Minutes (which, yes you’ve had) of the meeting I had with AR Lawrence & Surveyor to see I was heavily involved with assisting them in all kinds of works. Or as I replied to your 9 December 2016 letter:
(a) All the work was (you say) either done by AR Lawrence or subcontractors of AR Lawrence. (it was.....who else did any of AR Lawrence’s tendered schedule of works - I didn’t)
In your letter to me dated 10 June 2016 you said that: "all my work was done with approval and under supervision by both AR Lawrence and our Surveyor". You claimed that had your work ' been of "substandard or unprofessional quality .....it would have been required to be corrected by both AR Lawrence and our Surveyor." (yes quite true - and obvious - had the lights been blinking on and off or the lift with wet paint and not working etc you can bet your life that AR Lawrence’s crew or our Surveyor or the Freeholder’s surveyor would have made comment?
And from my favourite email dated 13th September 2014......
“Since the scaffolding commenced installation on Sunday 31st August, exactly two weeks ago, dead on schedule, Management have already saved Lessees £1177.56 OFF the agreed and budgeted £105, 019.
(my comment) note reference to “savings made” - begs the
