FUJI PHOTO FILM UK AT CANNES
R oger Sapsford is representing Fuji Photo Film (UK) at the 50th Cannes International Film Festival to be held from 7-19 May in Cannes. Roger will be staying on the especially chartered “Centaura” yacht which will be moored in the Marina throughout the Festival. Anyone wishing to catch

More than 900 guests gath- ered on March 2 at the Cardiff International Arena for the Sixth Annual BAFTA Cymru Awards. Karl Francis, who recently quit as BBC Wales head of drama, picked up Best Director for Streetlife while his leading lady, Helen McRory received Best Actress.
Best Actor went to Richard Elfyn for the HTV drama Yn Gymysg Oll i Gyd which also went on to scoop the Fujifilm award for Best Welsh Drama and Screenwriter John Owen.
Granada’s August, Sir Anthony Hopkins’ directing debut was named Best English Drama.
For its coverage of the Tooze murders, Wales This Week won Best Current Affairs Programme, BBC
Wales’ The Slate was Best Magazine Programme and O’r Galon picked up the Light Entertainment award. John Alexander’s Walking Towards The Light, about the Tower Colliery, took the Documentary prize. No surpris- es in the animation category as once again Cardiff-based Aaaargh swept the board for Gogs to add to the dozen already in its possession. ■
