Early 20th Century The Reverend Edward Samuel Field
After leaving the Buckland Newton Vicarage Henry Ravenhill, who had become known as Henry Everett Ravenhill, moved to South Sea, Queen’s Avenue in Dorchester. In the year 1913 his effects were listed at a total of 6,055 pounds,
6 shillings and 5 pennies.
Vicar of the Holy Rood
Henry Everett Ravenhill was followed at theVicarage of the Holy Rood by Edward Samuel Field and his family.
House of 19 Rooms
At the time of the 1911 Census, Buckland Newton Place was listed as having a grand total of 19 rooms, with only 7 people actually living on the premises.
Born in Hackney in east London circa 1867, the Reverend Edward Samuel Field lived at the vicarage with his wife Sarah Ellen, their daughter Helen Grace and son Edward Theodore Paul.
Sarah Ellen Field, wife of the Reverend Edward Samuel Field, was 6 years her husband’s junior and originally from Marshfield in Gloucestershire.
