London Film Festival in the ‘New British Cinema’ section, The Scouting Book For Boys
has won one of the LFF’s brand new awards.
Best British Newcomer was presented to its screenwriter
Jack Thorne, with the jury noting: “Thorne is a poetic writer with an end-of-the-world imagination and a real gift for story-telling. Thorne’s substantial authorship is revealed in the unique voices of the film’s characters and the rich, soulful and playful layering of the story.”
Directed by Tom Harper, his feature debut, The Scouting Book For Boys, shot by Robbie Ryan BSC on 35mm Fujicolor ETERNA Vivid 160T 8543, ETERNA 400T 8583, Super-F 125T 8532 and Super-F 250D 8562, opens in the UK early in 2010.

Arnold’s Fish Tank, originated on Fujifilm, is the top contender in this year’s British Independ-
ent Film Awards to be presented on December 6.
The Fish Tank octet include Best Film as well as Arnold for Directing and Screenplay, Katie Jarvis, for Best Actress and Newcomer, DP Robbie Ryan BSC for Technical Achievement. Michael Fassbender for Supporting Actor and Kierston Wareing for Supporting Actress.
Other Fujifilm titles nominated include The Unloved, which has earned Samantha Morton a nod for Debut Director; Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (Andy Serkis for Actor); Looking For Eric (John Henshaw for Supporting Actor); The Damned United (Jim Broadbent for Supporting Actor); Exam (Raindance award); The Hurt Locker, Il Divo and Let The Right One In, all for Foreign Film and nominated in the Best British Short category is our very own Fujifilm Shorts 2009 ‘Best Cinematography’ winner, Leaving.
