That getting done means we (the Management)
decided, on behalf of all Leaseholders, what
COULD BE DONE if we all wanted to proceed once
all quotes/estimates etc (3 of each) were
organised. That consisted of:
Painting the communal areas two colour (3 quotes)
Floor cleaning (3 quotes)
Lift refurb (3 quotes)
Communal Windows (3 quotes)
Brassware (3 quotes)
Lighting and electrics (3 quotes)
New, this that and the other (3 quotes)
All in all a very time consuming business, hence
the Surveyor's fees of £3367.99 plus 10% of
whichever quote was deemed fit to proceed with,
namely the £47,606 one..... That's his whack for
doing what we've done - or more truthfully, still
in the process of doing as of yesterday and
today, hence my tardiness in replying to you and
especially Susanna. My apologies to you both -
but I am working for nothing.... and have taken 3
months off from work since Christmas to get this
all arranged.
Now, as regards Susanna's worries and concerns. I
have obviously not adequately explained the
processes involved in reaching a point (which is
when we have all quotes/estimates for work
organised and finalised) that everybody can then
be given the chance to say what they think, make
suggestions, comments, choose colours etc etc. It
cannot happen as we go along or else it will
never get finished. I fully appreciate the
preference of Lanterns and the traditional
mansion block interior, but seeing as there are
other Leaseholders to consult, it's not possible
to pass over to them your particular choices as
they will come back with their preferences too -
then I would have to pass those over to you in
reply etc....
As Susanna is now well aware, I am not enamored
with Lanterns nor traditional mansion block
interiors purely because Mitre House is freezing
cold both in atmospherics and build (although
Maria's suggested carpetting would alter that
view a little) - as such, I prefer a much warmer,
artistic, even bohemian look, seeing as we're in
Kings Road Chelsea and not Mayfair or Belgravia,
and create a unique look as opposed to a
predictable one - but the majority view will win
out, so we'll see.
I fully appreciate the unfamiliar yet uniquely
different dustbins were not a success in two
quarters, but brought a smile or two on everybody
