The $25m Chinese-language epic, shootingmainlyinGuangdong,marks the first collaboration of the director andFrenchcinematographer Philippe Le Sourd, whose non- Gallic credits include Seven Pounds and AGoodYear.
Le Sourd is a former camera assistant of Darius Khondji AFC who
shot My Blueberry Nights for Kar-wai. Like Blueberry Nights and 2046, The Grandmasters is also being originated on Fujifilm.
The key action sequences are being choreographed by Yeun Woo-Ping, who, as well his prolific work on Chinese films,
