WHY DO YOU WANT TO SERVE ON THE BAGI BOARD OF DIRECTORS? I see the value that is added to the Indianapolis building industry from our collective networking, support, and sharing of information with one another.
By working together as a whole, we can listen to what is important with each business, and create a plan to improve the quality of our projects, to make every member’s business better. I believe that my unique experiences can add insight and a new set of ideas to help build on what BAGI has successfully accomplished so far, and deliver even more value to the builders in the future.
WHATISYOURVISIONASABOARDMEMBER? TheBAGIboardhastheabilitytohavetheirhandonthe pulse of all builders within Indianapolis, as such, I would to listen to your challenges, needs, and friction points. If I have the opportunity of being elected to serve you, I wish to advocate for and improve each builder’s process; through more streamlined paths to permitting and regulation, and testing changes in the building industry in advance to reduce problems with our Indianapolis builds.
HOW ARE YOU CURRENTLY INVOLVED WITH BAGI? I have worked to become more involved in the Association throughconnectingwiththebuilders,aswellasparticipatinginthisyear’sIndyRamaHomeShow. Iamcurrentlyseeking interest in Building Partners of Central Indiana, and I look forward to more opportunities in the near future!
WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT POSITION AT WORK? Owner of H•E Homes of Indianapolis
WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES FACING THE RESIDENTIAL INDUSTRY AND HOW CAN BAGIADDRESSTHEM? Theresidentialindustryremainslargelyunchangedforthepastseveraldecades–whichis notnecessarilyabadthing. Therearebuildingsystemsandprocessesthatworkverywell,andareunderstoodbyallofour tradepartners. However,withnewgovernmentregulations,codestandards,andproducts,Ibelieveitisimportanttoplan ahead,tonotplayagameof“catchup”afterthefact. Byworkingthroughchangesinadvance,wecan gureoutthebest way to reduce impacts on our budgets and reduce the headaches for our home processes.
HOW HAVE YOUR EXPERIENCES IN THE BUILDING INDUSTRY INFLUENCED YOUR LIFE? From coordinating moving parts, to budgeting and other business operations, building homes has given me  exibility in my workplace, the opportunity to help many clients (Many of which are now personal friends), and the ability to always be learning something new.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO SERVE ON THE BAGI BOARD OF DIRECTORS? BAGIisinthemidstofleadingthe industryonanationalscalewith“FromtheGroundUp.”WhatanexcitingtimetobepluggedintoBAGI! BeingpartoftheBoardthelast twoyearshasbeenful llingaswe’veseenthisinitiativemature. Withimportantissuesatstake,strategicinitiativessuchasthese are vital to the health of the building industry, and I wish to do my part in serving in the development and implementation of these programs, as well as serving as boots on the ground to promote the health of the building industry.
WHAT IS YOUR VISION AS A BOARD MEMBER? The board is committed to providing value to our member- ship, and over the coming year the board will be working to understand how we can better cater to the ever changing needs ofthemembershipweserve. Myvisionistobeanactivecontributorinthisefforttoenhancethemembershipexperience.
HOW ARE YOU CURRENTLY INVOLVED WITH BAGI? President, Hamilton County Council.
I represent BAGI as IBA Trustee, Indiana Builders Association Housing Protection Fund Board of Trustees
WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES FACING THE RESIDENTIAL INDUSTRY AND HOW CAN BAGI ADDRESS THEM? 1. Labor Shortage: expanding BAGI’s workforce development initiative, ‘From the GroundUp’2.AffordableHousing: BAGI’s‘BuildingTogether’initiativeworkstoeducatecommunityof cialsanddecisionmakers on the changing demographics of today’s home buyers, and to promote bene ts of the need for housing across all price points, with a diverse variety of lot sizes and home designs. 3. ‘Unknown’ Future as it relates to policy and regulation: BAGI provides a platform forourmemberstonetworkanddiscusstopicswithwidereachingindustryimpact. Itisaplatformthatpreparesustouniteasan industry, to ensure the interests of our home buyers, the drivers of our industry, are promoted and considered.
HOW HAVE YOUR EXPERIENCES IN THE BUILDING INDUSTRY INFLUENCED YOUR LIFE?
Mycareerinthebuildingindustryhasenhancedeverypartofmylife. Imetmanyofmybestfriendswithintheindustry. Mostof myhobbiesaretiedinwithknowledgeIgainedandskillsdevelopedwithintheindustry. Mostimportantly,thebuildingindustryhas provided me with a ful lling profession where I know I’m positively impacting the lives of the home buying community I serve.
LASTLY, WHAT ARE YOUR INTERESTS/HOBBIES? My wife and 3 kids (ages 15, 4, 2) . We spend most of our timeoutdoors,enjoytravelling,andheadingtothelakeforboatingandskiing. Ihavealsoplayedguitarforover25 years, and have a mild obsession with guitar collecting.
