Units should be arranged at the building exit before the body comes out of the place of worship or home,
in the following order:
- The escorts entercars as quicklyas possible.
- The firing squad, color bearers, guards and commander should go ahead of the procession and
assume their places.
- Thechaplain, buglerand pallbearers should goto the cemeteryahead ofthefuneral procession.
• Thefiring squad can be given necessarydrill atthe grave beforethe hearse arrives.
- No definite arrangement atthe grave is advisable becausethe surroundingsat each differ.The
following plan, changed when necessary, is satisfactory.
I The pallbearers at thecemeteryawaittheopening of the hearse.
I The chaplain leadsthe casket from the hearsetothegrave.
I Upon sight of the casket, the commandersays,"Presentarms,"holds position until the body is set
over grave, then says, "Order arms."
