CHAPTER 5
                            GENERAL ACADEMIC REGULATIONS AND RETENTION PROCEDURES

                       These regulations and procedures apply to the undergraduate/graduate level of the Ifugao State
               University.
                       Each class adviser is tasked to fully explain the contents of the Student Handbook to his/her class
               at the onset of classes.

                       An Orientation to all 1  years/transferees is conducted every year. Orientation to transferees is
               conducted every semester to be conducted by the Guidance and Counseling Services.

               5.1.  School Terms
               5.1.1.  There are two semesters and one summer in an academic year. The number of school days per
                       semester and per summer is contained in the academic calendar, which was based on the school
                       calendar prepared by CHED for the undergraduate level.
               5.1.2.  The CHED prescribes a minimum of 18 school weeks per semester equivalent to 54 hours for a
                       three (3) unit lecture subject in a semester.  The summer term consists 6 weeks.

               5.2.  Requirements For Admission
               5.2.1.     New Entrants
               5.2.1.1.  Generally, no applicant for enrollment shall be denied admission to the University by reasons of
                        sex, age, nationality, religion, political affiliation or physical disability.
               5.2.1.2.  All incoming freshmen who wish to enroll in the specific courses that require an entrance test
                        must take and pass the entrance test administered by the Guidance Office. An examination fee
                        shall be charged to each applicant.
               5.2.1.3.  Freshmen  from  recognized  high  schools,  seeking  entry  into  the  University,  after passing  the
                        entrance examination, shall submit the following documents upon enrollment:
               5.2.1.3.1.     Original copy of Form 138-A (High School Report card);
               5.2.1.3.2.     Certificate of Good Moral Character;
               5.2.1.3.3.     2 Copies of latest I.D. picture (passport size)
               5.2.1.3.4.     National Statistics Office (NSO) Birth Certificate
               5.2.1.3.5.     Duly accomplished application form for admission
               5.2.1.3.6.     Medical Certificate;
               5.2.1.3.7.     Marriage certificate (for married students)

               5.2.1.4.  Freshmen who have not completely submitted the requirements shall not be admitted to enroll
                        in the succeeding semesters.
               5.2.1.5.  Freshmen who have not finished the requirement for the first semester should not be admitted
                        to enroll for the second semester.  This will avoid irregular students due to missing pre-requisites.

               5.2.2.  Transferees
               5.2.2.1.  Transferee students in the undergraduate program shall comply with the following requirements
                        for admission:
               5.2.2.1.1.   Duly accomplished application form for admission;
               5.2.2.1.2.   Average grade required by the University where the student wants to enroll;
               5.2.2.1.3.   Certified true copy of TOR or certification of subjects to be validated/accredited;
               5.2.2.1.4.   Certificate of good moral character;
               5.2.2.1.5.   Medical certificate
               5.2.2.1.6.   Transfer credentials from the school last attended.

               5.2.2.2.  Transferees from SUCs shall be admitted and treated as regular students in accordance with
                        existing policies of the University.
               5.2.2.2.1.   2 copies latest I.D  picture (2x2)
               5.2.2.2.2.   Entrance test result for courses that require an entrance test.
