DICK WOOD COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP FUND Marking 50 Years of Servant Leadership
In honor of Dick Wood’s 50th Anniversary of Service, Wawa has announced the Dick Wood College Scholarship Fund with $1 Million earmarked for education assistance for Associates and dependents, age 24 and under. Dick Wood has always put others first and this scholarship
is to recognize his years of Servant Leadership and his continued promise to help others. From November 23, 2020 through January 22, 2021, Associates can apply for a $7,500 scholarship toward a full-time or part-time undergraduate program for up to four renewable years. Based on criteria and financial need, ten recipients will be announced and celebrated at a Spring luncheon with Wawa’s very own Dick Wood serving as Master of Ceremonies.
Dick has often referred to the Lessons from the Geese as a symbol of our Culture of teamwork and supporting each other. One of the lessons is “Geese Take Turns” at the Leadership position to support each other. Dick has often reflected on this and said, “You have to be willing to accept the help of others in order to become stronger and gain greater lifting power.” Although Dick has retired as Chairman, his legacy and guidance will live on forever.
