Eco-Solution 2: Use of Navigation Apps


            Our  recommended  eco-solution  for  achieving  a
            reduction of carbon emissions is to improve the van's
            fuel efficiency. It is clear that driving in heavy traffic or
            jams increases fuel consumption (FC) and reduces fuel
            efficiency.  The  Land  Transport  Authority  or  LTA  data
            further supports this, which shows a direct relationship
            between  CO emissions,  driving  conditions,  and  fuel

            consumption rates/efficiency (see Table 2).

            The van that GymKidz uses is a Nissan NV350 (see Figure
            5). It has an annual mileage of 9,600km.                            Figure 5: GymKidz van.

            The Land Transport Authority of Singapore reports that for this particular model of vehicle, the performance numbers
            are (see Table 2 and Figure 6):
