Figure 12 is a photo taken with the staff from GymKidz. Mr Tan Hwee Siang, Director, College Services of ITE
College West, linked us with the World Wide Fund for
Nature (WWF) to collaborate on developing the lesson
plan.
Staff from WWF provided a list of resources for our
use with GymKidz. These resources included softcopies
of colouring and activity books (see Figure 13). We
observed that the children enjoyed the colouring
activity and were delighted to receive these books and
participate in the activities.

Details of our lesson plan are as follows:
Time (min) Activity
5 to 15: Watching of videos (WWF)
15 to 35: Colouring activity (WWF)
35 to 40: Form into teams for replay
game and explaining of rules Figure 13: Children engaged in environmental education
40 to 55: Gameplay activity
55 to end: Prize presentation
The other resource provided by WWF were two videos from YouTube (see Figure 14). One features penguins, and
the other is entitled Pocoyo, Earth Hour, and Through the Years. The children enjoyed the latter more between these
two, and the videos inspired them in their colouring activity that followed.
