Introduction
J’s Salon, situated within the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel (see Figure 1), received a BCA Green Mark Platinum accolade
in 2021 for its dedication to implementing green initiatives.

Environmental Review
The ESI team conducted an environmental review of J’s Eco-Solution
Salon to identify environmental aspects of the business
and implement eco-solutions to improve its environmental To address the water consumption issue of the showerhead
performance, enhance energy efficiency, and cut carbon (Figures 2-4), the following solution was proposed:

Water and electricity consumption at the salon were found
to be the key environmental aspects of the business:
1. Water consumption: Basins equipped with hot and cold
running water are channelled through a single outlet for
various hair services, including at least one hair wash per
client.
2. Electricity consumption: Hairdryers at the salon are
significant electricity consumers.
