Working on this sustainability project has been humbling because it revealed the significant impact
that packaging has on the environment. I never fully understood the amount of waste generated
by food packaging until I began comparing eco-friendly alternatives. Discovering materials like
kraft paper and recyclable polyethylene helped me realize how even small changes in packaging
design can lead to reductions in CO2e emissions and plastic waste. It was surprising to learn
how simple choices can create such a substantial impact. This project has also emphasized the
importance of making sustainable decisions in business and how these choices can contribute to
a more environmentally friendly future. It’s inspiring to know that by focusing on packaging, we
can help minimize waste and foster lasting positive change for the planet.

Engaging in the “Revive” project to help the company explore more sustainable packaging solutions
has been a profoundly enriching experience. As someone passionate about environmental
issues, I felt both challenged and inspired while tackling this real-world problem. Researching
sustainable alternatives was eye-opening. I discovered innovative materials like biodegradable
plastics, plant-based composites, and reusable packaging systems. However, I also learned that
some "green" solutions have hidden drawbacks, such as high production emissions or limited
disposal infrastructure. This realization emphasized the importance of thorough research and
critical thinking in sustainability efforts. Overall, this project has reinforced my commitment to
Grace Chen sustainability and sparked my interest in pursuing similar initiatives in the future. It is empowering
Higher Nitec in Business to know that as students, we can contribute meaningful solutions to global challenges.
