In the NYAA sustainability project, I played a key role in preparing presentation slides for Mr. Jia Hui and
selecting the most suitable extruder for my team. Additionally, I contributed to product development, ensuring
alignment with the project's sustainability objectives and community-focused goals.
Creating presentation slides was a significant part of my responsibilities. These slides detailed our plans,
facilitating clear communication and providing a strategic head-start for the project. This task enhanced my
ability to present ideas effectively and helped me understand how my contributions supported the overall
project progression.
Throughout the project, I developed valuable technical and interpersonal skills. I became proficient in Canva,
improving my slide design and visual communication abilities. Balancing the demands of this project with co-
Dylan Yong Jun Lok curricular activities and academics taught me effective time management, a skill that will serve me well in
Higher Nitec Mechatronics future endeavours.

ITE College West Collaboration with my team refined my communication and teamwork capabilities. I learned the importance
of open-mindedness, conflict resolution, and aligning individual contributions with group objectives. These
lessons helped ensure the successful integration of various project components.
This experience significantly contributed to my personal and professional growth. It strengthened my technical
skills, such as research, presentation creation, and product evaluation, while also cultivating a strategic
approach to problem-solving. I now feel more confident in tackling complex challenges and am prepared to
apply these skills in future projects.
In conclusion, my involvement in the NYAA sustainability project was transformative. It provided a platform for
practical learning, skill enhancement, and personal development. This experience has deepened my capabilities,
and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a project with significant community impact.
Participating in the project to recycle Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) waste powder into Fused Deposition
Modelling (FDM) filament has been a transformative experience, enriching both my technical and interpersonal
skills while deepening my understanding of sustainable practices in additive manufacturing.
This project offered a unique opportunity to address real-world challenges in waste management and
sustainability. Through research and collaboration, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the SLS process
and its environmental impact, particularly the disposal of unused powder. Learning to repurpose this Waste
into functional filament not only introduced me to the intricacies of polymer blending and extrusion but also
fostered a deeper appreciation for circular economy principles.
One of the most valuable lessons I learned was the importance of patience and problem-solving in tackling
technical challenges. For instance, ensuring that the mechanical and thermal properties of the recycled filament
met FDM standards required rigorous testing and multiple iterations. These challenges encouraged me to think
critically, seek feedback, and persist in refining the process.
Beyond the technical aspects, this project underscored the value of teamwork and effective communication.
Wang Qiuyang Collaborating with my peers and mentors taught me to appreciate diverse perspectives and align individual

This experience has not only strengthened my technical expertise but also ignited a passion for sustainability and
innovation. The skills I developed—ranging from time management and technical proficiency to collaboration
and strategic thinking—will undoubtedly benefit me in future endeavours. Ultimately, I am proud to have
contributed to a project that demonstrates the potential of sustainable practices in shaping a greener future
for the additive manufacturing industry.
