You have learned in L17A ×べァ is used in asking for suggestions as in (1) and giving
suggestions as in (2) and (3) as follows.
By what time should I come?
It would be good if you come by 6. Wouldn’t it be good if you come by 6?
These forms can be made politer by using the estimation form ×
Who should I go with?
How should I say it?
Who should I go see?
How about if you go with Sarah? How about if you say it this way. How about if you go see a professor.
×べァゃだめびづ sometimes could signal that the speaker’s disapproval of the fact that the listener hasn’t performed the action that is being suggested. Thus, ×べァゃだめぱだづ avoids this.
