Ethos for Professional Communication
IN A REMOTE WORK ENVIRONMENT
✛ Practice Mindful Communication
Always keep the flow of communication open and healthy. Avoid adopting a passive communication style as a professional.
✛ Over-Serve (not over-share)
It’s not about you. It’s about the customer, the team, the community. If you always make it a mental practice to serve those you’re working for and with, it’ll keep you aligned with professional communication practices.
✛ Offer Daily Updates
Don’t ghost your people! Show up—every day, even if it’s a short Slack message or Trello comment.
✛ Be Effective, Quick & Concise
Communicate with a purpose. Know what you need to know or what you need to share when and where it matters most.
✛ Burst The Bubble
“Bump ins” have to be intentional. No one can successfully operate, grow, or thrive in a bubble.
