 Bonus Tip
Create your own professional remote update style. If you can deliver a short, concise message that’s consistent in formatting, it’ll become a part of who you are, and a part of what others know can be expected of you. Here’s an example:
Hey Leah,
Here’s my Daily FourCast for you...
1. Working on: (insert a short list)
2. Waiting on: (insert a short list)
3. Coming up next: (insert a short list)
4. Reminder: Let me know if we need to sync up today. Otherwise,
looking forward to our video call tomorrow.
(Other branded report name ideas: Daily Summary, Today’s Layout, Short Brief, The Daily Digest, etc. Be creative! Adding a small personal touch to your communication habits can go a long way and quickly set you apart. It also shows you’re thinking ahead, organized, on schedule, and even serves as a reminder in case the other person wasn’t tracking!)
