Burst The Bubble
Working remotely can often, unknowingly, elicit a mindset that it’s your timeline, your day, your goals. But in reality, if you’re an employee or contractor assigned to a customer, it’s never just about you. In a traditional workplace, you can bump into people and remember you owed them a response or chit chat as you pass by someone’s office. These interactions can be meaningful in reminding us to do certain things. When you work remotely, however, those “bump ins” have to be intentional. No one can successfully operate, grow, or thrive in a bubble. So, whether it’s scheduling a reminder to tell you to Slack message your daily updates or check your schedule for what’s happening next week to give someone a heads up, make it happen.
