Utilising the standard EU list of Modes the CSP Benchmarking Working Group has agreed 18 modes (direct
causes) of which those that have a Reportable Accident attributed to them are shown below. Again the
graph represents the number of Reportable Accidents – 64 - over the last 12 months from Nov 09 – Oct 10.

The Pie chart above shows the % of the 64 Modes for each category and in the legend you have the actual
number of accidents attributed to each mode. For example the were 12 Slips, trips or falls on the same level
that represented 18.75% of all reportable accidents.
