50 YEARS
IN THE FIGHT
More than 82 million Americans – about a quarter
of the people in the country – are represented in
Washington today by a member of the
Congressional Black Caucus. For 50 years, the
caucus has worked together to push for action on
the issues facing African Americans and other
marginalized communities throughout the nation.
Here in Columbus, the Ohio Legislative Black
Caucus has been advocating and advancing
similar causes for even longer.
This Black History Month, we recognize members
of the Congressional Black Caucus on their 50th
anniversary. Together with members of the Ohio
Legislative Black Caucus, they have worked
tirelessly in order to form a more perfect Union.
