Choirs

Donovan Catholic is blessed to have several diverse opportunities for students who wish to explore their
creativity through the song in their hearts. All choirs perform at the annual Christmas and Spring Concerts,
Spaghetti dinner, various community and diocesan events and compete on both the local and national lev-
els.

Mixed Show Choir

The Big Blue Singing Crew is a nationally acclaimed, award winning show choir consisting of men &
women who love to sing and dance. Students are chosen through audition.

Jazz Choir

The Blue Notes is an audition choir open to students in grades 10-12 and is an honors class. The Blue Notes
are also a nationally acclaimed, award winning choir.

Girls Show Choir

Big Blue Singing Crew Too is also a nationally acclaimed, award winning show choir consisting of
women who love to sing and dance. Students are chosen through audition.

Classical Choir

Shades of Blue is open to all students, men and women, who love to sing. This choir has also consistently
won awards and has been consistently invited to the Festival of Gold. Students need not audition for this
choir.

Bands

Donovan Catholic is equally blessed to have a band program in place for students who simply love to play
music. All are welcome to join our band program from the complete novice to the experienced musician.
All that is necessary is a love of music, a positive attitude and the desire to learn.

Concert Band

The Grifftones perform at our annual Winter and Spring Concerts, the Spaghetti Dinner, fundraisers and
various community events.

Jazz Rock Ensemble

An extension of The Grifftones, members are chosen through audition. This award-winning group

performs selected jazz and rock music at our concerts, and community events such as the Annual

Toms River Halloween Parade. 16
