Campus Ministry Retreat Programs

Freshman Retreat:

The freshman retreat is focused on the Mass. Members of the Core Campus
ministry team lead small group activities that guide the freshmen into a deeper
understanding of the liturgy. Small group activities and discussions, personal
witness talks, and time for prayer highlight this retreat. As a follow-up to the retreat,
students attend an individual religion class “teaching Mass” in the school chapel.
This retreat is mandatory for all freshmen.

Sophomore Retreat:

The sophomore retreat is an evening of reflection for sophomores and their parents
on John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. The evening includes time for prayerful
reflection as well as an overview of the Church’s understanding of the beauty and
the gift of human sexuality. The evening will provide time for parents to share and
reflect both with and without their child present. This retreat is mandatory for all
sophomores.

Junior Retreat

The young men and women attend separate retreats during junior year. The retreat
for young men focuses on masculine spirituality, faith and stereotypes. The retreat
for young women focuses on the importance of the spiritual, emotional, physical,
social and intellectual aspects of each woman; this retreat is led by faculty members.
This retreat is mandatory for all juniors.

Senior Retreat

The Senior Retreat focuses on discernment: How to read the signs that God gives as
we journey through life. Witness talks, activities and prayer time focus on seeing
how God guides us through the people, places and events of our lives. This retreats
ends with a trip to the beach for the senior Class yearbook photo.
