THE GRAND OPENING
A proud moment in our history was the official opening of the new hospice building Te Kahui Ngakau Aroha on
11 April 2019. Robyn Gibson and Peter Cooper, family of our Founders Sir Roy and Shirley, Lady McKenzie and Marion and Max Cooper, officially opened the building. Students from Waterloo School performed a rousing Kapa haka.
Te Kahui Ngakau Aroha
is the name of our hospice building. This name was gifted to us by
Kura Moeahu (Te Ati Awa). A brief translation is “the considerate and kind-hearted cluster for others”
