The driver for this transition was ELMO’s capability to allow us to completely tailor the user experience to meet our specific needs. ELMO’s HR functions will revolutionise our recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes. Additionally, ELMO includes modules for training, performance appraisals, and surveys. By consolidating these tools into one platform, the Hospice can achieve budget savings and eliminate reliance on third-party providers.
Overall, ELMO will drive processes to improve compliance and accountability at all levels, new employees will benefit from a personalised onboarding experience, and our teams will be empowered to achieve their goals and thrive.
Furthermore, to ensure our software remained up to date and fit for purpose, all hospice laptops were upgraded
to Windows 11, the latest Microsoft Windows operating system. This upgrade was essential to maintain the efficiency and security of our operations.
The upgrades were implemented in stages to prevent any disruption to entire departments. This phased approach ensured that if any issues arose, they could be addressed without significantly impacting the workflow of our staff.
Lastly, due to generous grants from Pelorus Trust & NZCT we now have brand new Smart TVs for our patient rooms. Although each of our beautiful modern rooms cater to a patient's needs, they were missing the capability for patients to access a wide variety of streaming services like Netflix, apps like YouTube, and the ability for patients and whānau to share photos and connect with distant loved ones via video streaming.
The TVs that were in these rooms, were recycled, repurposed, installed in our hospice shops, and paired with an Amazon firestick to enable the TVs to display hospice job vacancies, fundraising events, shop opening times and promotions, as well as general information as required.
TO PATIENTS IN THE COMMUNITY
DRIVING INNOVATION
AT THE HOSPICE
This year, the Hospice transitioned from enableHR to ELMO, a cloud-based HR system that allows staff to sign in from anywhere, whether they are working from home, supporting patients in hospital, or in the community. ELMO also supports SSO (single sign-on) which allows staff to securely connect with one password.
