Who pays the cost of council rates,
insurance etc.?
Residents of Huntleigh Apartments pay a monthly Outgoings Charge. This covers a portion of the cost of rates, water rates, property maintenance, lawns and grounds, building insurance and other operating costs. This simplifies the majority of your expenses, but leaves you free to choose your own telephone, internet and contents insurance providers.
What happens when I go on holiday?
When you go away on holiday we can offer you
peace of mind – you’ll know that we are keeping an eye on your apartment, maintaining the grounds and clearing your letterbox regularly. We can also arrange to take care of your plants, clean and air your apartment for a fee.
Will I continue to pay the monthly Outgoings Charge if I am away?
Yes, the monthly Outgoings Charge is still applicable for those residents who are on holiday.
Can I rent my apartment out?
No. The Occupation Right Agreement is for the resident(s) only.
Will there be security on site overnight?
Huntleigh Apartments is a secure community with 24/7 swipe card access. For peace of mind, the apartment complex is monitored at night by a security firm.
What happens if I get sick or have an accident?
If you have a serious accident or need urgent medical attention, you should of course call for help by dialling the emergency services on 111. We’d also encourage you to consider having a personal medical alarm.
If your illness or injury is temporary, Enliven can help you arrange other support services. This may include short-term respite or health recovery care or meal delivery and laundry services for a fee.
Who will sell my apartment when I leave?
We’ll take care of on-selling your apartment. For Enliven (Presbyterian Support Central) and the other residents, this ensures we can retain the retirement village environment.
Of course, you are welcome to introduce a prospective resident to us and we promise to keep you informed about the marketing of your apartment.
Do I still have to pay the Outgoings Charge after I leave?
The monthly outgoings charge will cease three months after the termination of your licence to occupy.
