           Enliven
Enliven’s vision is one where all older people have companionship, choice and control, meaningful activity and purpose in their lives. Everything we do strives to deliver this.
Enliven’s core services range from vibrant rest home, hospital and dementia care, to practical in-home support and independent retirement living. These services vary between regions as we respond to local needs.
In 2017-18, we’ve continued to focus on local partnerships and collaborations which are key to developing new service models to respond to the growing numbers of
older people in our communities.
We are also offering important additional supports to help eliminate social isolation for older people. These include community cafes in rural areas, day programmes, music therapy, social work and family support networks.
Investing in our skilled, caring and dedicated team remains
a priority. We welcomed the opportunity to improve the wages of support workers following last year’s pay equity case settlement. While the implementation came with challenges, the increase in
Government funding that was
passed on directly to staff, is a step toward recognising the vital work our passionate and dedicated support workers do. Equally, the recruitment of trained nurses and allied health professionals in a competitive market remains challenging.
Another highlight of 2017-18 is
the property developments and refurbishments happening in a number of areas. You can read more about this on page 11. Although the tight construction market is making this challenging financially, it’s an exciting time.
  Our stories
The stories and statistics recorded in this annual report illustrate the depth and breadth of the work that we do. Of course, in order to keep things brief and to protect the privacy of the people we support, much of the complexity and detail has had to be removed.
If you would like more information about anything included in this report I encourage you to contact our National Executive Group. The names of these leaders and their regional organisations are included on page 15.
