     CHANGING
MINDS CONFERENCE
Registrations are open for our well-respected Changing Minds Conference, which will be held at the Lower Hutt Events Centre on 29 October 2021. The conference will inspire greater connections, collaboration, and knowledge to stimulate the mahi and encourage our communities to take greater ownership and care of the dying.
We’re excited to welcome keynote speakers Dr Rajagopal presenting by video link from India and Yoko Sen presenting by video link from the USA. Dr Rajagopal is the founder chairman of Pallium India and palliative care physician, and Yoko Sen is a musician, performer and patient. Katie Williams, a midwife, palliative care nurse and founder of the Coffin Club will present in person. There is also
a pre-conference evening event on 28 October – an inspirational public screening featuring
Dr Rajagopal.
Raelee Jensen, Te Omanga Education Coordinator, says the Conference will appeal to many people whether they work in the health sector or not. “Dying is a social event and it’s everybody’s business. Why not empower yourself and our community to support those who need it at the end of life?”
For more information, visit teomanga.org.nz/education. Register by 15 September 2021 for the Early Bird discount.
