Gutters/Downspouts/Rain Barrels
• Location: (gutters must be located so that runoff does not adversely affect adjoining properties; drain hose
additions/extensions must be buried, if possible)
• Design: (gutter systems which include caps should have a simple design with a low profile and be finished in the same
color as the gutters)
• Color: (gutters must be dark brown; downspouts located along stucco dividing walls must be Saffold Way Beige; end
units downspouts not on party wall must match the color of the siding; if caps are used, they must match the color of
the gutters)
• Rain barrels: (may be included at bottom of downspouts; the design, color, material, and size should be chosen to
minimize visual impact; they should be located as discreetly as possible, preferably at the side or rear of property)
with the following stipulations:
The addition of a water barrel requires a Design Review Board application
All existing gutters and downspouts not in conformance with the above must be brought into conformance upon substantive
repair and/or replacement
House Numbers
• Original numbers were placed over light fixture
• Many have replaced with numbers on siding under light
HVAC
HVAC unit, located in front or rear of property.
The HVAC units must be appropriately screened from view by the Hillcrest section DRB-approved cluster standard for
fencing or with appropriate landscaping.
