*Decking color should be natural wood colors (brown or gray hues) when composite
decking is used and match to the house trim color when wood is used.*

Upper-Level Decks Color

• Painted/stained predominant color of the house
• Upper-level deck walking surfaces need not be painted or
stained

Upper-Level Decks

• The externally visible portions of upper-level decks (i.e.
everything that isn’t the walking surfaces) must be a single
color
• Deck must have trim boards on all sides that conceal
understructure of the deck
• Wood or wrought iron railings
