ASTEROID MRAP

Asteroid is a 4x4 or 6x6 armored vehicle designed mainly to carry out insertion

and extraction of troops and provide passengers’ blast protection up to STANAG
4569 Level 3 and ballistic protection up to CEN B7. Due to smaller dimensions and
high seating capacity, it is an ideal vehicle for urban and field operations. The

vehicle is designed for harsh off-road conditions and could be in various

configurations: troop carrier, command and control, and observation vehicle.

Asteroid can be configured as a 5-seater vehicle with enclosed payload bin at the

rear, used in the combat support or as a 12-seater consisting of a commander,
driver, two gunners and eight soldiers. It can be fitted with a remote weapon
station or manual turret capable of carrying up to a 12.7 mm machine gun, and

7.62 mm LMG/GPMG or multi barrel smoke grenade dischargers, depending on

the specific role.

The meticulously designed “V” shape hull perfectly supported by the purpose-

built independent suspension, provide a safe and comfortable ride to crew
members and stable gun platform for the weapon system even when fully loaded
to its maximum payload capacity.

Asteroid is armored to STANAG level 3 as standard and with the use of composite
add-on plates, strengthen even further. Asteroid is a truly multi-tasking vehicle,

being small enough to negotiate street and junctions during urban operations,

thanks to a very tight turning circle, but sustainable enough to conduct long range
border reconnaissance, due its large fuel tank and excellent ground clearance.
